Everything you need to know about last extensions and more

So, you're thinking of getting that new set of lashes?

Classic, hybrid, volume or mega? C or D curl? Cat eye or open eye? And the list goes on. Confused? Let me help you!

Let's get back to basics. Lash extension service is a process during which an extension is applied to your natural eyelash. An initial set takes anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 hours depending which set you and the lash tech agree on. Reoccurring fills are 30 minutes to 2 hours. Classics also referred to as "singles" and "signature" lashes  performed using one extension per one natural lash. They are the iconic basics of lash extensions and something that every lash techs knows how to do. They create more textured and defined look. Again, depending on the size and length used, each set will look different on each client.

Volume lashes, are applied using 2 or more extensions per natural lash. Some client are taken back by that. But there is something that most clients don't know about. Volume lash extensions have a specific size which makes them many times lighter than classic extensions, therefore we can apply 2 or more extensions per one natural. The look that we create with volume lashes is softer feeling lashes and ability to imitate fullness.

Next on the list, Hybrid lashes. These are quite fun to play around with as a lash tech. Hybrid lashes are exactly what they sound like. They aren't fully volume or classics but rather 50/50. Half classic lashes, half volume. These are for clients who aren't 100% ready for volume lashes yet but still want a little more than just a classic set.

Last but not least, MEGA volume lashes. These lash extensions are extra fine therefore we can use up to 15 of them per natural lash. They are big, bold and blacked out. Not every tech can create mega fans, only after many hours of training and practicing will the tech be able to make these. Personally, I didn't start practicing mega lashes until I was about 2-2.5 years into my lash career. Mega lashes aren't for everybody, but everybody can have mega lashes.

Curls???

Hmmm..... and where do we go from here? C curl is the most natural curl from them all. Similar to your natural lashes it will deliver slight curl with a bit of oomph.

D curl is most commonly used in our shop. Its not too curly like DD curl and not as relaxed like C. D curl will create more of an awake and ready to go look. Side note, D and DD curls aren't to be used on clients with very round and protruding eyes; C, B and L curl will look amazing on them instead.

CC curl is go to curl when you can't decide between C or D curl. As we are building our inventory CC curls will be available to our customers for sale. in just a few weeks ;)
